Upper The XC50 features a tough but supple synthetic leather upper for long term durability and protection from the rocks, roots and grit out on the trails. A micrometric buckle closure coupled with 2 offset velcro straps provides a secure and easily adjustable fit without pressure points or abrasion. A flexible insole cushions and conforms to a wide range of foot shapes.
Sole Shimano have optimised the sole for a combination of stiffness, lightness and traction for efficient power transfer and speed. It is constructed from a glass fibre reinforced polyamide matrix with a dual density polyurethane tread pattern and a soft arch pad for pedal stability. Spike mounts are included for extra grip in wet conditions.
